Hairlooms Headpieces

One of a kind vintage hair accessories

Hairlooms Headpieces create one of a kind vintage style headpieces using refashioned vintage jewellery. An underappreciated pair of deco dress clips or a sparkly but underused brooch are just some of the starting points for Hairlooms Headpieces’ designs.
Hairlooms Headpieces sell a range of hair accessories from Bridal Side Tiaras to Fascinators, Hair Combs and Hair Grips, all made with refashioned vintage pieces.
Hairlooms Headpieces also launched their bespoke service late last year. They’ll start with a discussion about your ideas and colour preferences and then set out to source the perfect vintage items to use in bringing your one of a kind headpiece to life.
Proprietor of Hairlooms Headpieces, Kristen Hubert, has explained some of the ethos behind the vintage loving company:
“All the pieces of jewellery that I use to make side tiaras, hair combs and hair grips were once the cherished objects of young women now aged or passed on.  The sentimental value they attached to these pieces must have either faded for them or their family who decided to part with them.  I would like to think that by recycling them into headpieces that will be worn by someone new, sometimes even on their wedding day, that not only is new sentimental value being placed on these objects, but some of the latent sentimental value they once had for the previous owner is revived again.  If the previous owner of that macrasite brooch that she received from her Father on her 16th birthday some 60 or 70 years ago, could see the bride of today wearing it as part of her bridal side tiara, wouldn’t she feel a sense of pride and connection?  I’d like to think she would.”
