COLWYN BAY 40’S FESTIVAL Saturday – April 20 – 2013 Colwyn Bay – (Wales) In it’s second year the Colwyn Bay 1940’s event has grown to a two day event, 20th & 21st April 2013, and includes, battle skirmishes in the town and on the beach, life sized model spitfire, military vehicles, live 40’s music including ‘Lilli De Carlo’ aka Beverley Alexander and ‘George Formby’ aka Paul Casper, dance displays, 1940’s food tasting, 40’s ephemera, food and fashion, WWII look-alikes and a 1940’s dance on the Saturday evening with a live big band. For those that wish to stay over there are secure camping facilities at the nearby Parc Eirias – military vehicles very welcome. Colwyn Bay was (surprisingly) very important to the Home Front effort of WW2 as it was the location of the ‘Ministry of Food’. We would love to have exhibitors and stalls with a focus on the 40’s. WWII NIGHT Saturday – April 27 – 2013 Marsh Gibbon Village Hall – (South East England) 07:30hrs to midnight. We have a live act booked in the form of Victory Belle (web site address below)and we hope to have some military vehicles present. There is a licensed bar and included in the £20 ticket price is a free drink and a fish&chip supper. Period dress is desirable but not essential. Only Allied military dress admitted.
