Hay Does Vintage – 30th June 2013

Hay Does Vintage Returns

Hay Does Vintage organisers Jo Hodges and Naomi Parsons, are delighted to be returning to Hay-on-Wye with an even bigger vintage event, ‘Town of Temptation’ on Sunday 30th June. This time Hay Does Vintage will be taking place in four separate venues, a marquee in the Market Square, the Buttermarket, St John’s Place and the Parish Hall all within a short walk around Hay. Jo and Naomi are also keen for people to appreciate the huge choice of antique and vintage shops that the town has to offer. ‘Hay has been quietly building itself a reputation as a centre for vintage excellence for some time and we want to highlight that to a wider audience in a fun and light-hearted way’ says Naomi.

Apart from encouraging visitors to wander between the four venues, aided with their ‘Town of Temptation’ map, there will be an interactive fashion show with models in charity sourced vintage clothes styled by Hay Does Vintage intern and local fashion student Lucy Scott. Like last year, the charity shops will be open on the Sunday and reserving their vintage stock to sell on the day.

Makeup artist and co-organiser Naomi, of Naomi Emmanuelle Makeup, will be on hand to provide vintage makeovers with others providing vintage inspired hairstyling and manicures in the new ‘Pamper Lounge’ upstairs at St Johns Place.

The Marquee will be host to a large number of returning and new traders and co-organiser Jo’s recently launched ‘Travelling Tearoom’ will be there serving homemade cakes and pots of tea in vintage crockery.

Hay Does Vintage was delighted to be on site at Hay Festival this year in their pop up vintage shop, which had a small preview of what will be on offer on Sunday 30th June. ‘It’s been a fantastic promotional opportunity. Apart from selling vintage stock we have encouraged everyone we spoke with to come back and visit our event’ says Jo.

The resounding success of last year’s Hay Does Vintage saw visitors and traders dressed in vintage attire and travelling miles to attend despite the awful weather conditions. With over 60 quality vintage traders joining them this year, offering a diverse selection of vintage and upcycled goods Naomi and Jo feel there is something for everyone.

Vintassion – Online Vintage & Retro Fair

Indulge your passion for vintage 24/7.

Vintassion.com is an exciting new Online Vintage Fair dedicated to helping customers with a “passion for vintage” in browsing and buying all types of vintage and retro themed or styled items, including reproduction. The fair is free for customers and sellers need only pay a fixed fee of £10, i.e. there are no commission fees payable on sales.

Vintassion enables you to easily search the entire fair or a particular stall by item name and to quickly refine your search by selecting a vintage category, material, and era. You may also preview on the home page a rolling showcase of highlighted items from sellers’ stalls and look at Vintassion “Uncovered” for details of the latest listings and special offers.

“Best of the best”

What makes Vintassion especially interesting is that every seller has the opportunity to list their best items, in fact up to 100 items and sellers may also restock their stall as they sell.

You therefore get the opportunity to easily compare and find the “best of the best” vintage and retro items from an interesting and wide variety of vintage stalls. This is helped by all item listings being presented in a similar easy to compare format, including: payment options, seller policies (e.g. returns policy), and delivery options. You may also share items you love easily with friends using the social media links for Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest etc.

Direct from sellers
Similar to a traditional vintage fair when you are interested in buying an item you simply find out more information from the seller and agree on price, preferred payment method and delivery or collection arrangements. Please note none of the items listed on Vintassion are offered under an auction bid type of sale, although you’ll see many items where sellers indicate they are open to best offers.

Reviewed by customers
To further help you decide to buy from a particular seller’s stall take look at their customer review star ratings. A seller’s overall customer review star rating is the average of their last 50 customers’ reviews. After you’ve bought an item you will be invited to submit a review about how well the item as described met your expectations and your experience of buying from the seller. You can also search the A-Z of Stall Holders, which lists all the sellers and their review ratings, and you may simply select and open any stall of interest.

More information
For more information on Vintassion please take a look at our website www.vintassion.com

We expect the number of Vintassion Stall Holders to grow very quickly. If you would like to find out more about becoming a registered seller, please take a look at Setting-up your own Vintassion Stall.
